Lesson Dates
When you and your child sign up and enrol, you are reserving the place in the studio for the entire year. Lesson dates based on ACT Public School term dates, it might be different from the normal term dates according to my professional engagement interstates and overseas, please refer published Studio Dates for details.

Lesson Time
Please arrive a few minuets before your lesson time to allow your child to settle, clean their hands, use the bathroom and observe the other child before his or her own lesson. Please observe, take notes and being part of the lesson, so you will be able to assist your child practice daily at home. Electronic devices should be used for note taking purpose only. Siblings are welcome to attend provided they are not disruptive. Parents are asked to bring quiet activities for younger siblings while lessons are in progress. 

 

Tuition

(based on 10-week term, all fees are GST inclusive and non-refundable)

• 30 mins lesson: $640

• 45 mins lesson: $960

• 60 mins lesson: $1280
   

1st payment is due on 2 February 
2nd payment is due on 21 April
3rd payment is due on 20 July
4th payment is due on 9 October 

 

Tuition fees cover more than the weekly lesson time reserved exclusively for you and your child.

They also include time invested in each student, including:
 

Weekly lesson/ group class planning.
Consultation via phone, email or in person.
Studio resource (maintenance of instruments, facilities, music lending library, photocopies).
Teacher's professional organisation membership.
Continuing professional development and experience.
Concert planning and preparation. 
 

Group Class
$84/ term
 

All Book 1 and early book 2 students are required to attend monthly group class to reinforce skills for music reading and musicianship through group activities. There will be no credits or refund if you miss the group class. Senior students (book 5+) are welcome to join ensemble class. 

To support a focused learning environment, parents are asked to refrain from social conversation during group classes. If the younger sibling is getting too distracting, you are welcome to bring them outside of the studio till the child is calm again. 
 

Every Parent Can! Parent Education Course
$400

This course includes unlimited observation sessions and four private phone consultation for new families. All new studio families are required to complete the course prior commencing individual lessons. These sessions support readiness for both parents and students, please see For New Piano Parents for details. 
 

Registration 
$65 per child 

​

Annual registration fee supports the ongoing administration and infrastructure of the studio including:

Website maintenance and technology.
Bookkeeping.
Scheduling.
Admission to studio concerts at the studio (excluding Ensemble Concert or Chamber Music Concert). 

 

Suzuki Family Membership
Suzuki Family Membership is required for all students learning from a certified Suzuki Teacher and will be registered in the parent's name. Membership covers all members of the family. Please refer the website of Suzuki Music Australia for details.

Cancellation Policy 

No payment credit or makeup lessons will be provided for students absences for any reason. Any lesson cancelled by the teacher will be made up or credited. If your child is unwell, please do not attend the lesson, this is especially important to protect everyone in the studio. A child is too unwell for school is also too unwell for lessons. The older student can arrange an online lesson (Google Meet/ FaceTime/ Zoom) at their regular lesson time if approbate.
 

Try to choose a lesson time in which you feel confident. Please understand that the tuition you pay reserves an exclusive weekly time in my schedule for you and your child. Unlike a doctor or a hairdresser, I cannot resell that time nor can I create extra teaching time in which to give lessons.

Lesson Swap List

To assist with occasional unavoidable schedule changes, families may opt into the Lesson Swap List. Participation is optional. Please note the swaps are dependent on availability and may not always be possible.

If you will be away for an extended period and wish to retain to the your lesson time, a holding fee of 30% of tuition fee applies during your absences. 

Lesson Termination
If lessons are to be discontinued, four week’s written notice is required. Tuition remains payable during the notice period, whether or not lesson are attended.

Communication 

Positive language is used in lessons to supports students and guide parents in practice straggles. Please inform me of any relevant circumstances affecting practice during the week (a brief message before lesson is appreciated). Parents are asked not to critique their child during lessons, Individual discussions can be arranged by phone, email or in person,

Video & Photo Release Form 

 

I maintain a Studio Facebook page as well as website at actsuzukipiano.com. From time to time, photos and short videos of students may be shared on these platforms and on YouTube for educational and promotional purposes. Students are identified by first name only, If you do no wish your child’s image to be used please advice in writing.  

 

I understand and agree to the studio policies for the 2026 year.
